JOB OBJECTIVE
Contribute to the preparation of drilling project & perform required detailed completion engineering. Prepare completion programs and follow-up operations in collaboration with D&C and fluids superintendent. Actively support Lead Completion Engineer during Drilling campaign preparation and execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HSE & Regulatory:
- Adopt and demonstrate exemplarity towards HSE rules with associated enforcement and control within his area of responsibility
- Prevent major incidents (blow out, loss of asset, wells integrity issues) through detailed and reliable engineering studies
- Lead or participate to HAZID / HAZOP when necessary and ensure recommendations are implemented where required
- Participate to the Wells Statement of Requirements (Well SOR) meetings and ensure all hazards, specific data and technical requirements related to Completion & Intervention are clearly identified and properly captured
- Perform or contribute to studies required for the preparation of the project. Coordinate as required with drilling team. Update basis of design document as required
- Prepare detailed completion/workover programs, based on the approved Well SOR, and in compliance with company referential and best practices.
- Initiate & participate to CWOP and related risk assessment for completion/workover operations
- Prepare Standard Operating Procedure for drilling Phase 1
- In coordination with QAQC team and Well Superintendent, ensure completion (sub-assemblies) and well intervention (intervention and workover tools) equipment are prepared in compliance with company referential and industry best practices
- Prepare and issue End of Well / Intervention Reports.
- In charge of daily operations follow-up & performance reporting (KPI, Completion Database…)
- Perform QA/QC check on Wellview to ensure tallies/completion schematics are properly entered
- Play a key role in the Drilling Improvement Process for completion, capturing lessons learned and improvement initiatives for future operations
- Initiate / be actively involved in preparing and carrying out risk assessments on operational options, well remediation and well integrity situations
- Follow-up of assigned contracts
- Coordinate and assist for Service Quality Meetings with vendors
- Ensure accurate and efficient follow-up of Completion hardware consumables and stock throughout the supply chain process
- Prepare CFT document for completion/workover operations
- Perform CFT technical assessment and make recommendation to the C&P team
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist Lead Completion Engineer in the management of the completion department
- Identify & recommend through CFT process best HSE/Technical/Commercial offers for required Services and Equipment
- Prevent major incident (blow out, loss of asset, wells integrity issues) through detailed and reliable engineering studies
- Deliver all required Completion & Wells engineering studies. Support on-site operations on demand and when required
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Petroleum Industry MSc (or equivalent professional experience) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Completion activities (Engineering and Operations) with minimum 5 years of operational exposures in affiliates. Well intervention experience appreciated
- Valid IWCF certification. Familiar with Wellcat
- Very good interpersonal skills and ability to work within an international team of engineers. Fluent in English, fluency in Arabic appreciated
