mselect is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer Materials and Corrosion for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas industry. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to; engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.
  • Ensure the required technical framework including QHSE, environmental and local regulation, assurance practices, engineering standards, personal safety and process safety policies are incorporated and followed, in work-scopes and whilst conducting Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities. Also, review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
  • Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
  • Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
  • Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/ EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
  • Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
  • Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/ Variation to approved guidelines and practices.
  • Support the development of personal technical competency and skills, and those of Co-workers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Chartered/ Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas industry.
  • Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Materials & Corrosion Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
  • Fluency in English language with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.
