mselect is looking to hire a Financial Cost Analyst for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a cost or financial analyst role within a multinational company. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Role Synopsis
Support the cost lead in ensuring proper recording of projects’ costs/invoices for the Business area.

Key Responsibilities

Actuals/Invoice processing:
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of supplier invoices by contract terms with onward routing for technical and financial approvals
  • Review Finance Ledger transactions on an ongoing basis, generating journal entry requests into Finance when required
Contractor Interface:
  • Review, validate and issue monthly reports related to the invoices
  • Generate Purchase Requisitions through Maximo
Reporting:
Assist in the maintenance and population of Invoicing reports.

Requirements
  • A cost/financial analyst role for a multinational company (2+ years) would be advantageous
  • Oil & Gas industry experience is a plus 
  • Strong analytical and information skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to learn new processes 
  • A good understanding of Oil &Gas Accounting Practices is a plus
  • Excellent Computer skills – including Excel, Word, Outlook is a must
  • Competence with Financial systems – experience with SUN/Maximo a plus
  • Good English language speaking and writing skills

Objectives
To develop proficiency in the end-to-end process of a cost analyst role and ensure that all significant activity is correctly recorded in the company books in accordance with the terms of the “Technical service contract” (TSC) and International Accounting Standards.
