Role Functions
Responsible for performing inspection activities and resultant analysis of results from the integrity management and repair activity programs to assure the continued integrity of the structures, pipelines, and static/rotating equipment. Provides effective control over the facility in the areas of corrosion management and verification. Ensures all static plant, equipment and structures are inspected and certified in accordance with approved plans. Reports to the Senior Inspection Engineer.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspection Engineering Planning & Prioritization:
- Ensures overall inspection of plant, equipment, pipelines, and structures complies with appropriate standards, approved criticality procedures to ensure continued integrity and availability
- Reviews and incorporates inspection and integrity programmes into overall integrated activity and operations plans.
- Maintains and updates Risk Based Integrity (RBI) programme
- Issues repair orders for defective plant, equipment, and structures in accordance with the maintenance management system
- Raises, performs, updates, and closes out integrity related preventative maintenance routines, corrective maintenance routines and corrective actions
- Ensures work is carried out in accordance with HSEQ Policy, Management Systems and Procedures
- Supports the Senior Inspection Engineer on the review of Management of Change (MOC) requests for the Integrity discipline
- Reviews specifications and QA/QC programs of third parties contracted for regular ongoing repair or fabrication work meet integrity assurance requirements
- Keeps updated on latest technological developments in order to suggest cost effective improvements in technology and processes
- Reports to the Senior Inspection Engineer on all issues relating to own responsibilities
- Exhibits and maintains excellent working relationships with all staff
- Conducts studies to identify areas for improving facilities on a continuous basis in order to support the operation of the facility
- Recommends improvement actions and practices to senior management
- Consults with Senior Inspection Engineer regularly. Direct impact on safety performance of critical activities
- Independently makes decisions on all routine Inspection needs and priorities
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Corrosion Engineering is preferred
- Accredited API 510 and API 570 courses is an addition
- 10 years of experience in plant inspection relating oil/ petrochemical industry Non-destructive examination techniques
- Knowledge of HSE aspects and requirements as applied to industrial projects
- Computer knowledge in different engineering software programs
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite)
