MSELECT is hiring a Project Manager for a construction client in Erbil. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in general construction and must be fluent in English, Kurdish, Arabic is a plus.
JOB PURPOSE
Making major corporate decisions, managing the overall operations and management of project, and acting as the main point of communication.
OVERALL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, Time Management Project & Resources Management:
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Keep track of project timelines and detailed milestones
- Adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Schedule & track project by using Microsoft Project professional or Primavera P6
- Prepare and submit monthly resource availability and allocation at Stage Level (resource planning and following up), determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
- Prepare and submit half yearly resource plan at project level
- Submit human resource recruitment proposal
- Management of inventory, tools, and equipment
Standards/Quality:
- Follow group quality construction standards & ensure compliance with standard building codes
- Develop and implement group quality control guidelines
Execution, Managing the Team:
- Assigning role and responsibility of team member
- overall management of construction site and project team
- Follow Group construction techniques
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Ensure site safety and compliance of workers to safety policies
- Organize weekly meetings
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
- Lead and coach the team & delegate responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Check design documents with architects, surveyors, and engineers
Procurement, Bidding Process and Contract Management:
- Approve purchases up to $10,000
- Prepare and review scope of works for requested service, Job, and materials
- Prepare and review BOQ
- Participate in the evaluation process of selecting successful bidders and vendors
- Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
- Submit and confirm punch-list of completed project tasks
- Issue final completion certificate and confirmation for releasing retention
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs
- Provide advice to project teams concerning contractual matters including claims for variation, progress claims, extensions, and disputes
Reporting to CEO:
Provides regular reporting to the CEO
Conflict Management:
- Deal with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project
- Evaluate the safety & poor-quality risks if any take appropriate risk mitigation steps. Communicate the Action Plan to CEO
- create a contingency plan to have a proactive approach to risk management.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
- Identify on a timely basis any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project and take appropriate remedial actions. Update CEO during weekly meetings
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Essentials:
- Project management and implementation experience
- Have engineering/construction experience and background
- Maintain a good rapport in the business environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management
- Effective communication skills in Kurdish, English, Arabic is a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
- Excellent organizational management skills
- Able to analyse and evaluate complicated issues quickly and accurately
