mselect is looking to hire a Senior Accounts Manager for an oil and gas service in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or finance including knowledge of industry standards. Fluency in English is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs
  • Performs payroll activities
  • Processes payables, receivables, payments, and checks
  • Completes routine bookkeeping
  • Assists with financial reports preparation
  • Performs journal entries for company transactions
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance
  • Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Support month-end and year-end close process

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have at least 5 years' experience in accounting or finance including knowledge of industry standards
  • Written and spoken English
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
